Thursday 19 November 2026, 5.00 p.m. London time (GMT): Dr Angela Balla, University of Alabama in Huntsville, leads a Traherne Reading Group discussion of the article on ‘Human Abilitie’ from Commentaries of Heaven. A PDF file of the text will be distributed in advance to participants.
Thursday 4 February 2027, 5.00 p.m. London time (GMT): Dr Jill Robson, independent scholar, ‘John Aubrey and Traherne: A Second Look’
Thursday 22 April 2027, 5.00 p.m. London time (BST): Professor Alison Shell, University College London, ‘Traherne’s Anti-Catholic Satire’
Thursday 20 May 2027, 5.00 p.m. London time (BST): Professor Christopher Hodgkins, University of North Carolina-Greensboro, ‘"Childhood is Health": Herbert and Traherne on Infancy’
The papers are followed by ample time for discussion, and meetings last for 1 hour.
