Professor Angus Vine, editor of Traherne's Early Notebook for Volume IV of the Oxford Traherne, is giving a paper on 'Traherne Reads Bacon: The Paris De augmentis in 1650s Oxford', at « French Bacon: Réception, Critique et Influence de la philosophie baconienne en France (XVIe-XXIe siècles) », Université de Caen-Normandie, Caen, 14-15 December 2026. Angus will be speaking about the French edition of Francis Bacon from which Traherne took extensive extracts in the Early Notebook.
